Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a partner?
No! You can come on your own. Many classes rotate partners throughout the lesson, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to dance and meet other people.

I’ve never danced before. Can I still come?
Absolutely. Beginners are welcome. Look for beginner-level classes.

Do I need to register ahead of time?
No, just come in!

What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable that allows you to move freely. For shoes, choose something secure that stays on your foot with a smooth sole that allows you to turn easily on the dance floor. Avoid rubber-soled or very grippy shoes, which can make turning difficult. Dance shoes aren’t necessary when you’re just getting started.

What if I don’t know which dance style is right for me?
That’s okay! Explore the different beginner classes we offer.

What’s the difference between a class and a social dance?
Classes are instructional and designed to help you learn or improve your dancing. Social dances are opportunities to put those skills into practice, meet other dancers, and enjoy time on the dance floor.
